8/15/2011- HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME - EELS 2011 WORLD TOUR:
EELS circled the globe playing 50 shows around the world, starting in China, through Europe, the United States and Canada, and ending with the final show in Los Angeles Friday night. 8/1/2011- EELS ROCK CANADA:
EELS took their 2011 world tour to Canada and rocked thousands at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal yesterday. Jimmy Page attended the EELS show at London's Somerset House Thursday evening. The Led Zeppelin mastermind and rock legend came back stage for a rare rock royalty summit with EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett aka E. Coming just weeks after sharing the microphone with Ringo Starr at The Norwegian Wood Festival and meeting Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones in Belgium, E now says that he's "thinking about re-naming our 'TREMENDOUS DYNAMITE in 2011' tour the 'EELS MEET ROCK ROYALTY in 2011" tour. 6/29/2011- EELS GLASTONBURY TRIUMPH:
EELS barnstorming performance at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend is being heralded as one of the top highlights of the festival. The Telegraph calls the EELS appearance "a witty, energetic and musically stunning set" in their list of top 10 highlights, while The Independent says it was "a soulful, funny, crowd-winning show" in their list of top 5 highlights. 6/27/2011- EELS ROCK GLASTONBURY:
EELS rocked an estimated 46,000 fans for the closing night of the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England last night. This year's Glastonbury Festival, the largest music festival in the world, featured performances from U2, Radiohead, Morrissey, B.B. King, Coldplay, Beyonce, Queens of the Stone Age and more, marking EELS first appearance at the legendary festival. Early reports are that a good time was had by all. 6/12/2011- WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY EELS:
Ringo Starr asked the EELS to join him to sing The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends" on stage at the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo, Norway Saturday night. The performance marked the first collaboration between the EELS, a Beatle, Edgar Winter, and Little Steven. For more information on Ringo Starr go HERE.

6/9/2011- SHANGHAI'D IN SHANGHAI; EUROPEAN TOUR STARTS TOMORROW NIGHT:
After rocking thousands in Beijing - to the point where the Chinese Army marched between the EELS and the crowd to maintain the peace when the show got too exciting - the Shanghai EELS show had to be cancelled when the Chinese promoters were unable to get the EELS' gear to the venue in time. After being told repeatedly that the gear was about to show up, EELS were forced to cancel the show at 1am when it became clear that the equipment was not going to show up. With no instruments to play, the EELS had no choice but to cancel the show. The band deeply apologizes to the Shanghai fans, and is very disappointed that they didn't get to rock Shanghai like they rocked Beijing, but the matter was out of the bands' control. The EELS 2011 European tour starts tomorrow night in Copenhagen, Denmark.

3/30/2011- EELS 2011 WORLD TOUR/FREE TRILOGY EP DOWNLOAD:
Following the first tour since the release of the album trilogy (HOMBRE LOBO, END TIMES, TOMORROW MORNING) in 2010, EELS are surprising fans by launching a 2011 world tour. After a warm-up show in Santa Ana, CA June 1, the tour officially starts with the first ever EELS performances in Beijing and Shanghai June 5 & 6, then rolls through Europe, including their first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival June 26 and onto North America, starting in Austin, TX July 20 and ending in Los Angeles, CA August 12. 1/24/2011- EELS TO PLAY VENICE FAMILY CLINIC BENEFIT:
EELS, Fiona Apple, and Patton Oswalt are scheduled to make appearances at the 2011 Venice Family Clinic Benefit Gala honoring director Judd Apatow, February 28th at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles. The event marks the first time EELS and Fiona Apple have shared the stage since they toured together in 2000. The Venice Family Clinic provides free health care to over 24,000 people. 6/22/2010- UK POLICE MISTAKE EELS SINGER FOR TERRORIST:
NME reports that London police questioned EELS singer Mark Oliver Everett, aka E in Hyde Park Monday, June 21, after a suspicious person fitting his description was reported outside a nearby embassy. The heavily bearded Everett was taking a break between interviews at a nearby hotel to promote the new EELS album TOMORROW MORNING. After telling the police he was a rock musician, not a terrorist, they let him return to his press duties. Says Everett about the incident, "Not every guy with short hair and a long beard is a terrorist. Some of us just want to rock." Read the NME report HERE. TOMORROW MORNING is out August 24.
